This exquisite 19th century Meissen snowball urn is, indeed, rare. The urn is covered in balls to which hundreds of tiny flowers have been applied. Four birds are perched on different areas of the urn, the rarest being the large parrot on the side of the base. Gilded leaves and vines are entwined in strategic places. There has been some restoration to the leaves and vines and there is some damage to some of the leaves. This does not detract from the beauty and integrity of the piece. This is an exceptionally large piece measuring 20 inches tall. Marked on the base. One of the finest Meissen pieces we have ever seen.
