Frederick Walrath was a potter between the years 1903-1918. He worked in New York and, also, for Newcomb for a time. This signed piece is a rare example of his work. The sleeping nude is a typical subject during the Art Nouveau period. The bottom is impressed, "Walrath." It measures 4 1/2 inches long and 2 5/8 inches wide. One minute flake on the bottom of the base. (visible in photo) Otherwise, no chips, cracks, or repairs. |
