This is a wonderful example of silver work executed by Peter and Ann Bateman. Their joint mark was used between 1791-1805. The George III sugar tongs have very fine bright-cut work. The PB, AB mark appears on one side and additional hallmarks on the other. The tongs measure 5 1/2 inches and are in very fine condition. A beautiful and rare early piece.
