Following the merge of the Mt. Washington Glass Co. and Pairpoint, several lamps of different kinds were produced. Mt. Washington was well known for their beautiful Burmese glass.
Guba was the best known designer and decorated associated with Pairpoint. His ducks in flight were a well known design of his. These ducks are exceptional with superior detail and coloring. The back of the lamp has enamelled cattails and reeds - the sides being enhanced with a few well placed water lilies. There is no evidence of a signature unless it is on the bottom which is not visible, however, the ducks are clearly Guba's work. The condition of the lamp is excellent. There is no damage to the glass and the painting is intact. The lamp measures 27" to the top of the finial. The glass body is 11 1/2 inches high. Extraordinary piece! |
