The Matawan Tile Company made tiles beginning in 1898 and closed around the time of WWII. This octagonal tile is an example of their work. The stylized shamrock is the central theme. The tile is bordered in a geometric black and gold pattern. Marked on the back, Matawan Tile Co. and PRO-CER. The tile company was located in New Jersey. Perfect condition. It is a 6 1/2 inch tile. |
