X15-0122

14K Gold Elgin Antique Pocket Watch, COA This extraordinary pocket watch comes with a certificate of authenticity stating that it was, once, owned by Greta Garbo and later given to film star, Dorothy Lamour. The certificate is printed on paper with a water mark that reads, "Permanent Record." Additionally, we have the envelope from the place where the watch was sold. The watch, without the provenance, is a fabulous Elgin hunting case pocket watch that is 14K yellow gold. The case is, elaborately, engraved in the Art Nouveau style and retains its original white porcelain face with black Roman numerals. Additionally, there is a small sub dial. The face is revealed by pressing on the stem. The back has outer and inner protective cases that shield the movement. The watch is stem wind and stem set and is in running condition. It is stamped Elgin National Watch Company under the number 11020970 and also has a safety pinion. It is stamped in two places, 14K and also stamped Warranted, U.S. 208284. Beautiful Condition, the piece measures approximately 1 1/4 inches in diameter. In 1873, Elgin introduced its first stem wind watch. This piece was made between the years 1904-1905.
