SC12-1051
Napoleon Bonaparte, Crossing the Alps This outstanding figurine was made by Kister Schibe-Alsbach, Germany ca. 1970. It is after the famous painting by Jacques-Louis David, a French painter (1748-1825). The painting is the first of five painted by David. David changed the sure-footed mule on which Bonaparte crossed the alps into a dashing charger. He wore the uniform he wore at the Battle of Marengo. The figurine is a wonderfully detailed depiction of Bonaparte. Colors are vibrant. Features are precise. The hand was made from an antique mold and was made separately from the rest of the piece. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The figurine measures 12 1/2 inches high, 8 1/4 inches wide and 5 inches deep.

P3-6573BL
Art Nouveau HP Sevres Plate, Artist Signed There are two marks on the back of this highly decorated Art Nouveau plate. The decorator's mark appears to be a Rosenthal mark, the plate mark, Sevres. A portrait of a young woman surrounded by vibrantly colored lilies with fine gold ornamentation throughout, this plate is striking. The fluted rim is enhanced with more gilding. The artist's signature appears to read, "E Rozi," and is featured in one of the pictures. This ten inch plate is in mint condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
